  • We are a Humane Society 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that houses & cares for over 100 dogs.
  • We provide rescue transportation and pet adoption
  •  Our organization has some foster homes available but are always looking for more to assist with temporary housing, especially for cats.  If you are interested in fostering please Contact Us

We would like to offer assistance to the elderly, disabled, and financially disadvantaged through additional programs that will be established in the future. All programs are contingent on available funding and are at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

“Who is Rosco?”

A former puppy mill dog who received a new life is the inspiration behind the Rosco P. Coal Train Community Outreach organization based in Mountain View, Arkansas. The organization was born in 2014 and serves the Mountain View and Stone County areas.

Rosco was born to a puppy mill breeder and lived four years in an outside-only pen. He only received physical contact when he was required to breed with a female dog to produce yet another litter. Given that he was deprived of love, affection, socialization and proper medical care, Rosco thrives after being rescued. Due to his poor treatment and genetic defects commonly found in puppy mill dogs, Rosco lives with multiple health problems but he is now happy and active.

“Reaching Animals and People”

Rosco’s story is not unusual, in fact it’s all too common. That’s why the Rosco P. Coal Train’s Community Outreach is so vital for the Mountain View and Stone County, Arkansas area.
